Melissa is the editor for Eater New York. Before that, she edited for Mark Bittman's Substack and his website on Medium. In addition to freelancing for Bon Appetit, the Washington Post, and elsewhere, she was also a columnist for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Newsday. She recently wrote "Bread and How to Eat It" with Rick Easton for Knopf, released in May 2023.
